Dance Photography

After seeing Katie's post about a dance blog following a dance photographer, I decided to research another dance photographer. The one I've found is Lois Greenfield, a photographer who uses dance to showcase their expression and the beauty of the human body. The dancers not only create shapes, but make full expressions with their bodies. Take a look through and see if you can make impressions on how these dances would change if you saw them performed in real life?

  1. This is an interesting post because I feel like all of these are really great photos to use in order to advertise a dance company, or some kind of dance event. Obviously, these (or at least most of them) were not taken during an actual live dance performance. It is definitely easy to tell what kind of dance each picture represents based on the categorization and costumes, but if these photos weren't so "staged," then I think it would be much more difficult to differentiate what kind of dance is being performed in each image.
